A renowned scholar, Dr. Nilanthi Bandara, is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka. She is an expert in epigraphy and socio-economic history, and has written important books based on inscriptional data, including Ancient Sri Lankan Society and Ancient Economics. With important contributions to the study of Jainism and monastic architecture in early Sri Lanka, her research examines the relationship between religious pluralism, ancient trade, and heritage management. In addition to her research, Dr. Bandara has held leadership positions at several international conferences and is a prolific editor for prestigious archaeological publications. Her efforts are essential to the reconstruction of the cultural and economic landscapes of the Indian Ocean region.
